"From the Sony STR to the Onkyo 7.1 THX this unit rocks!" on by mdbreeden
Pros: It's everything you want in a Receiver and more.
Cons: Lack of Optical Input, If it was me I would match 1 to1 HDMI to Optical. Instead you get 4 HDMI and 2 Optical.
This beauty is heavy.
It will be smart to purchase a small fan to help cool, she runs HOT
You get what you pay for and you pay...Summary: I Love my 7.1 THX Onkyo TX-NR906. I basically saved for this one, but I got what I wanted and it's worth every penny.

"Excellent Sound Dynamics - Exceptional Value!" on by ROCC-Jamaica
Pros: Great Separation of Sound.
Great Dynamics at Low or High Volume.
Simple to Operate.
Network Capable (Ethernet / USB).
Power to Spare. - Real Power (Not half rated @ 7 Channels)
Solid Build.
Low THD.Cons: Needs One More Optical Input.
Gets Very Hot, but does not Deteriorate Sound.
Slightly Slow Switching.Summary: Sounds better than the Sony 3000ES it replaces. I can now enjoy the dynamics of 7.1 Surround Sound at low or high voumes.
The Automatic Mic. Calibration does a very good job at setting the speaker DB's etc., only had to adjust the Sub a bit up, and the Center a bit up.
Overall, very very pleased with my purchase! -
