"Decent Receiver, but beware for HDMI connections in Surround Sound Setup"
Pros: Multiple setting and sound configurations; auto sensing for surround sound
Cons: Some HDMI kinks
Summary: I currently have this receiver hooked up to a 5.1 speaker system and it has reasonable sound. I previously had tried to use it as a receiver for an entertainment center but found that when hooking up a DVD player with and HDMI connection, the unit couldn't output to the surround sound speakers without also connecting an optical coaxial cable for sound. This seems crazy if you have an HDMI cable for picture and sound and then need to hook another cable to get surround sound. You can get sound out of the TV if you're not using external speakers, but then what is the point of the receiver?
Overall, the receiver has some nice features, but seems like a big miss on HDMI connections.

I bought this BRAND NEW for 200 dollars through ebay and love it. It sounds just as good or better than any receiver from other brands twice its price! Commenting on the HDMI. THis is VIDEO ONLY. YOU HAVE to use the optical digital ouput for ALL sound from the DVD. That is clearly written in the description as well.
