"Nothing Comes Close In This Price Range!!!"
Pros: Two HDMI 1.3 inputs; converts analog video sources to HDMI; onboard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding; XM- and Sirius- ready; automatic speaker calibration; switches as many as five high-d
Cons: None to date.
Summary: Excellent receiver in it's class or even the class above! A ton of features and Onkyo quality for under $500! This receiver sounds excellent and is easy to use. Upconverts your analog to digital via the ONE hdmi cable, this is nice, ONE cable going to your tv! Video quality is excellent unlike some other reviews here, also no hdmi problems or popping noise. Everything is better than expected! EXCELLENT receiver, very, very happy with purchase, would not buy anything else.Updated
Regarding the reviews about lack of hdmi inputs, lack of power, etc., you have to remember this is $400 receiver. Most receivers that are $700 - $800 don't offer all of these features and still have the quality of this receiver.
This receiver is the best for it's price range. For anyone shopping for a future-proof receiver that is on a budjet, this is the BEST out there, hands down. If your budjet is over $1000 and you expect all the features and quality of a $1200 receiver then don't expect this as a substitute.
Again, for the money, features, quality and for someone shopping in this price range that wants a high quality receiver with all of the future features, this is the best out there!
