Pros I have used Yam Nat Sound, HK, and Pioneer Elite Receivers which I think are all good brands. I think this one however is the best bang for the buck out of any receiver purchase I have made. This thing is packed with features for the money.
Cons It gets hot but not a biggy. I haven't had a problem with it from the heat though I wouldn't think setting anything on top of the unit. It does down covert 1080i comp signal to 720p over hdmi switch. This shouldnt be an issue if you use all hdmi.
Summary ITs worth the money and will be a fine addition to most mid range home theater setups. This thing will be highly usable without thought of upgrade for years to come which is about as much as I could ask for with any electronic device purchase. It has the newest audio formats supported, it has lots of clean power and it looks great in my component rack.
Pros HEAVY METAL substance.
Cons Video processor not in the same league as its coworkers. The 875 & 905 will have the HQV scalers.
Summary Bypass the Video Processing and go strait from the source. Your TV processor will do the better job. Except you will need hdmi for lossless audio DolbyDigital TrueHD
