    "hdmi alert" on by parsberger

Pros: I am very happy with the sound and self adjusting speaker system

Cons: Hdmi doesn't allow my projector, sat. receiver and dvd to connect.

Summary: After a month i finally found out why the HDMI connections didn't work. This receiver, manufactured before january "07 allows only other HDMI versions 1.1 or higher to connect. My other components (which I bought the same time) have hdmi version 1.0 only. That is crazy.I wish that Cnet could mention this in their reviews.

its not the receiver's fault you were either misinformed or did not perform enough research before you purchased it, it is still a great receiver

If I understand your comment correctly, it would seem that you purchased other components that were incompatable with the Pioneer at the same time as you bought the 82TSX. It would seem to me that you might have considered either returning the receiver and the components to the seller or requesting that the dealer do a hook up to ensure that they would in fact work together. One wonders why this you took a full month to solve. It is inexplicable. The blame certainly should not be placed solely upon Pioneer, despite their design shortcomings. You are partially responsible also as you failed to demonstrate good judgement and to do so within a reasonable time period. To give a rating of three was unfair.

I'm not sure why you gave the receiver a bad rating when it was your fault that you purchased it before finding out which HDMI versions it's compatible with. That's like buying Microsoft Vista, then you tell everyone that Vista sux because it wouldn't work with your Mac. It's not Pioneer's fault that you didn't do your homework, although I'm sure they appreciate your patronage.

I am purchase the VSX-82TXS and the Aperion Series 5 speakers, then I read your comments on the VSX-82TXS. Did you resolve your HDMI dilemma. This is also important to me.
