"Good job pioneer!!"
Pros: Overall great sound quality. Amplifier has plenty to of power to spare even at high volume.
Auto set up worked great basic and easy to use.
Solid chasis, vibration free unit runs cool as well
Looks great.Cons: Remote is a cluster.
Summary: Overall I do think Pioneer did a great job for the demographic they were trying to reach. It may not have the larger number of hook ups as some of its competitors, but for the everyday basic consmer who has this parked in their family room it works great. The Auto set up is easy and one time, you dont have to reposition the mike several times either. This reciever can be tweeked for the more experianced consumer as well. Most people only have one or two HD sources so hookups meet the demand of your average user. The reciever sound wonderfull it roars like a lion when needed and is as quiet as a lamb if needed. I find that I can enjoy this reciever while watching basic tv, other recievers Ive owned or heard even those that are more expensive can get overwhelming and distractfull, this one is very well balanced. The sound quality is steller at all levels. You can use the direct source option on digital formats to turn off any audio processng, its sounds great excellant sound feild with 2 channels. The multi channel play back is great never overwhelming. The THX processng works great, clear detailed highs and smooth low notes. This is a great reciever, Its great for the normal consumer, who doesnt need a million different hookups. I was very pleased with my purchase.
More Hdmi hook ups.
No Phono hook up.
