Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K

Pros: i picked up this receiver about 2 months after its release, and for what it provided at that price i was very happy. easy to setup, functioned well with my pro-111fd.

Cons: not nearly as much power output as advertised, hdmi faulty.

Summary: I was initially very happy with this purchase. unfortunately 6 months after purchase it can't decide if wants to work on a regular basis. The problems i'm experiencing all have to do with hdmi. most of the time the hdmi out is non-functional, and then when it does allow the signal to output, it tries to tell me that my ps3 and xbox 360 aren't hdcp compliant. they say the chain is only as strong as the weakest link, and my pro-111fd (a pioneer product that i couldn't be happier with)and paradigm studio v.5 series surround sound speakers are in serious need of a receiver upgrade.

if you have $500 to spend on a receiver, save a little longer and get one thats actually going to work as advertised.
