"No routing of digital inputs to zone 2 a deal breaker"
3.0 starson by yarra64Pros: It's ok. Sound quality is satisfactory
Cons: No routing of HDMI inputs to multi-zone. Confusing remote, complicated set-up.
Summary: It's 2010! Let's face it we buy these things and expect them to fully support digital AV devices. Having bought this I was really disappointed to discover that the HDMI/digital (optical) inputs cannot be routed to the unit's second zone. This pretty much renders the multi-zone functionality useless. The remote has some poor product design/usability issues, including two "receiver" buttons and the manual is pretty hard work.
The iPod connectivity is ok. But I'd rather use a bluetooth streamer (such as the blackberry music gateway) and control my music from the iTunes interface on my iPhone. But perhaps that's just me!
Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the sound quality. The speaker test and automated level adjustment is good (except it insisted my center speaker is out of phase - which, it isn't!).

Agreed, the "2nd zone" feature is useless and the CNET review should mention the limitations. What's the point of having a HDMI/digital receiver with a 2nd Zone if you can't play a digital source on the second zone? Also it should make it clear that the 2nd Zone video does not show HDMI or even component video sources. And yes, the remote and gui are usability nightmares. The CNET chart shows this unit has coax digital output, but it does not, confirmed with pioneer support.
