The VSX-D814-S is the silver-colored step-down version of the VSX-D914-K; it's also available in black. The D814's $365 MSRP is $90 less than that of its big brother. In addition to a less elaborate remote, the VSX-D814-S has one fewer S-Video input (three instead of four), slightly less power (100 watts per channel vs. the D914's 110), and a manual acoustic calibration system (as opposed to the D914's automatic one); in addition, it lacks the front-panel optical digital input found on the D914.
