"Worth the money!"
Pros: Single output delivery, 6 HDMI ports, 1080p upconversion (non-HDMI), excellent GUI
Cons: None so far
Summary: Just got the receiver yesterday and had it hooked up within 25 minutes - speakers and all 8 components! So far I have tested: LP, audio tape, video tape, laser disc, DVD-R, 400 disc DVD changer, PS3, and HD DVR (last three connected via HDMI). All of these have performed flawlessly, and I can see the upconversion on the analog video. The audio processing is stellar - I have Paradigm speakers connected to it and they sound better than they have in years, thanks to the stereo auto-calibration.
The only glitch I ran into is that when I initially hooked everything up and ran the HDMI cable from the receiver to my TV, the GUI did not appear. I called Sony, went through a few steps and found that I had to disconnect the TV's HDMI cable and then reconnect it - once I did that, the GUI showed up fine. I love the crossbar menu's ease of use and being able to re-label every input (including the HDMI's) to my preference.
Nothing but net so far!
