"Great Sound and impressive inputs. HDMI 1080p"
Pros: Supports Linear PCM (uncompressed) on my PS3
Cons: No 1080p passthrough over component for my 360
Summary: Great receiver. It does 1080p passthrough over HDMI. I was impressed it could do Linear PCM just like the higher end 5200es.
The sound and power of this receiver is impressive. It's a big step up from the Sony str-dg800 and not as expensive as the similar featured Sony 3200es.
Picture quality over HDMI is fantastic.
For happy!Updated
If you have followed the Xbox360 and PS3 you will have noticed that 1080p is possible over component. This for games only that support this, or that are upconverted. Of course, 1080p is not possible for HD movies because of copy protection, that is for HDMI.
I have 1080p over component directly to my TV for games. In my post I said that I could not convert the 1080p over component to HDMI using my receiver.
Hope that helps.

I have a PS3 connected to str dg1000 trough HDMI and the HDMI out is connected to a plasma tv and a projector connected trough component, I have a great image with the plasma but the projector can not find it, so i can not play using my 100` screen. What can I do to fix it?

I must say, if the receiver does indeed downconvert the 360's component signal to 480p, that sucks.
Although you claim 1080p over component, this is not true for the majority of 360 users. Trust me, I am a 360 owner myself, and use the monster component cables to connect to my brand new Sony Bravia 40" LCD KDL-40V2500. My display only accepts 1080p signal via HDMI, component only goes up to 1080i on mine, and the vga port doesn't take 1080p either. Give or take, some displays actually take 1080p over component. So please realize that only 10% or less of the current HD displays accept what you claim. Most manufacturers bury this information in the manual unfortunately.
I was considering this receiver, but bummed to hear that news. Thnx for the review. -
The issue you raise here about not getting 1080P from your X-Box through component cables is, to my understanding, a limit of the capabilities of component video cables which are simply not capable of carring the bandwidth needed for 1080P. You would have to use either DVI or HDMI to transfer the 1080P signal, regardless of the receiver you choose.
