"Unit description is missleading, do not buy for upscaling"
Pros: Lots of features
Cons: the main feature you want does not work.
Summary: I bought this unit for three reasons. 1. I had another Sony receiver that performed exceptionally well these past 5 years. 2. HDMI switching. 3. It will upscale and output the other formats to HDMI. #3 is 99% false It will only upscale from 480i to 480P. If you have a component signal above 480P, the receiver will downgrade it to 480P if it goes out through the HDMI. Obviously Sony did this on purpose. They could have at least let the signal pass through at its native resolution.
Once again Sony wants to be at the forefront of DRM.

You should have researched this unit a little more carefully. You can go to the Sony website and download a product manual. Sony did not mislead because all of your issues are covered in the manual. DUH

Buy the higher end 5200es before you buy one. A little research helps from buyers being upset because they were uninformed.
