Quick Take: The entry-level Sony STR-DG500 is the most affordable A/V receiver in the company's 2006 product line. The 6.1-channel receiver offers 110 watts of power per channel and features an automatic speaker-setup program to assist with proper speaker placement and optimizing sound quality. Connectivity options are limited to three digital audio inputs (two optical, one coaxial) and two component-video inputs. The receiver is scheduled to be available before the end of March for about $200.
