"Good Machine for Price"
Pros: Lots of AV features
Cons: Sound quality is ok but lack of gain is problematic.
Summary: THis is not too bad a reciever, but I have been an audiophyle for many, many, years. I purchased my first Sansui stereo reciever when I was stationed in Viet Nam. I have had recievers that pump out 100 watts per channel and this is not one of them. In my 15x12 home theater room, with a 100 wpc receiver turned about 3/4 way up, it is louder than what I find comfortable. When I turn this up to max volume, it is not quite loud enough. This is driving two Sony three way speakers with 8" woofers and smaller center and surround speakers. When I hook up a Yamaha 5560 to the same speakers, there is more power and I can't have it turned all the way up. It is rated at 75 watts. I am returning the Sony and getting a newer Yamaha.
