"Won't control other components, OK sound, low price."
2.0 starson by Brian LawsonPros: low price, info display, XM sat radio sound quality, quick menu reference
Cons: remote will only control BRAVIA components, will not control non-BRAVIA Sony components
Summary: I bought this receiver based solely on Sony's reputation for quality, and this unit's ability to receive XM radio broadcasts. After getting frustrated because it couldn't control even my Sony DVP-NS75H HDMI upconveting DVD player, I contacted Sony tech support and learned that this unit will only control Sony BRAVIA components, which doesn't help me much. I want a receiver that will control my other components, at least the on/off functions. So I returned this unit and traded for a 5.1 Yamaha RX-V461 A/V receiver and I am very happy--it has a multi-brand remote control, works well with my system, and the XM radio sound quality is much better than the Sony. I love Yamaha's sound, it's the best.
In summary, unless you have all Sony BRAVIA components, I would suggest NOT buying this receiver, as it has no advantages over any other brand and doesn't sound as good.
