"works great in my system" on by dwenham
Pros: 3 hdmi inputs, reasonable power, clean sound, tremendous value
Cons: lousy speaker terminals for larger wire, no upconvert to hdmi (I don't need)
Summary: This poor little receiver sure deserved better reviews, after all, it's the same unit that CNET gave a 7 to a few months ago, with 1 more hdmi input. Can't see why it would lose ground for adding connectivity. It's running Deftechs in my system as loud as I can stand them. (they're pretty efficient, so not a real challenge for the amps.) Just wanted something to run my new HD system and it does so just fine.

"Decent Receiver for a Decent Price" on by drkblz
Pros: 3 HDMI Inputs
Auto Calibration
Decent Sound
Looks Slick
Customizable Input LabelsCons: Radio didn't work well with my location... had to play with the antenna to get it to sound clear. Sounds crystal clear now.
Summary: If you don't need S-Video inputs, or preferably any analog video inputs, this is a fantastic receiver. If you need S-Video, or analog video inputs in general, especially if you find it frustrating to have to change your TV and Receiver inputs, this is probably not for you.

"Very good value and performance" on by Kitobird
Pros: I have been using this receiver for several years and although my DVD player and the TV have had to be upgraded STR-DG810 still fits the system and performs very well.
.As much output as the large room needs and quality sound.Cons: Only complaint is that not being able to see the menu options on screen makes setup harder than needed.
Summary: Not planning to change any time soon !

"CNET, I don't think I can ever trust you" on by radrider82
Pros: Superb sound, low price, easy to use, multiple connections.
Cons: I can't think of any.
Summary: 2 days ago, I was ready for a new sound system and looked at the HT-CT100 by Sony. It got rave reviews by CNET and the price was terrific (under
$300). I bought the thing and could not believe how awful the sound was. With the limited options it gave me, I knew this definately had to go back. I was wallking past the Open Box Values and walked by this reciever. It was $170 but the manager said he could bring it down to $140. Sold. I came home, set it up and instantly, the sound melted my ears. I set up my PS3 and HD Cable and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Every small detail jumped. I bought Kung Fu Panda on Blu Ray today and chose the "True HD" Dolby Digital option. Un-beh-freakin-leavable!! So after my little weekend, sorry CNET, I'm not going based on your reviews anymore. Trust me guys, this receiver is AMAZING!!
