Great receiver! Does everything very well!
Pros: Easy Setup, YPAO!!!, Great picture quality through video, awesome array of sound fields!
Cons: Large size (I did not have very much room), speaker wire landing a little cramped.
The sound quality is great, lending very good high and mid-level responses. I haven't had the chance to try out the LFE channel yet because I don't have a subwoofer. Without it though, the sound is still great! The amount of sound fields will keep you busy for a long time deciding what you like for each source used. I am a little bit of a gamer so having four video game consoles and a sattelite receiver plugged into this thing is no problem. I even have room for 2 more audio sources!
I am plugging 5 video sources through this receiver. 3 S-video and two component. The receiver automatically converts everything to component which is sent to my HDTV's component in. The video quality is excellent, delivering a better picture on my S-video sources than when I had them plugged in direct to the TV. The unit kicks out 480i (S-video), 480p (Xbox), and 1080i (Xbox 360) signals flawlessly. All out of one cable to my TV.
I still have much to experiment with as I have two more speakers plus the sub I can add (currently running 5.0). I highly recommend this receiver to anyone!

Wonderful well-rounded receiver
Pros: Easy set-up, accurate auto callibration, warm-natural sound
Cons: remote is clunky, lack of HDMI/DVI switching
I have this system paired with Bose 302 bookshelf speakers and cheapo JBL center/surround speakers. Sounds phenomenal, so I could only imagine how great a voice matched system would be with this receiver.
This is one of the best buys for the money.

Yamaha receivers truly produce the best sound I have heard
Pros: alot of features, easy to set up, Yamaha YPAO saves you alot of time and gets you up and ready in minutes
Cons: Not really any cons just that the remote took me a while to understand and that the receiver is not THX certified
