Pros Solid sound with plenty of depth
Cons Preloaded definitions in Remote not up to date, should add DVI inputs/outputs.
Summary I just purchased this unit to replace an old Yamaha RXV870. The ability to upconvert everything to component make it easy to use for your whole audio/video system. The setup feature is also great. Just connect the YPAO mic to the unit and press auto setup. The unit does a great job of balancing the speakers. There are more expensive receivers out there, but ,for my money, the Yamaha RX-V757 is worth its price.

Cons average remote
Summary Murray Home Theater in San Diego recommended that I get a receiver to control my home theater. I am very happy that I took their advice. The RX-V757 does everything. HDTV, DVD are great. Best of all I now have a sound system in our small condo with no exposed wires and in wall speakers. Wife happy. I'm ecstatic!
Pros Connectivity options. What ever you have, you can connect!
Cons Amount of connections could be intimidating to the newbie
Summary This piece of hardware is so easy to install. The challenge was deciding what I wanted where! Every connection needed, even out to the 42" Plasma is primo! My only drawback is the wife LOVES this receiver. (Barely get a chance to listen myself now)This coupled with our JBL's and our place is rocking.
We have it hooked to our patio via the A/B option (Hardwired) and we also have the option to install another room via wireless! Yamaha leads for a reason, and this model does not disappoint.

Pros Quality sound
Cons remote control hopeless, inadequate documentation
Summary Would buy again
Pros Excellent Sound
Cons Setup needs some tweaking
Summary XM ready, good feature. The auto setup does not take full advantage of the speaker setup. I have 2 Klipsch RF-15's, a Klipsch RW-8 sub and a center channel RC-25. Even with the mic placed in the center of the listening area, setup basically ignored the RF-15 floor speakers and made the center channel the main speaker. Once I did manula setup, got the levels of all of the speakers set the way I wanted, jacked up the sub (factory default is to have no volume to the sub-you must turn it up) I am getting awesome response and sound quality out of this receiver. Yamaha has always made excellent audio equipment so I ditched my HK AVR-230 for this one.
