The list below comprises our favorite LCD TVs that don't have LED backlights (more info). At CNET we generally review more expensive models, most of which do have LED backlights these days, so there are fewer TVs on this list than the "LED TVs" list, and they generally have lower overall ratings. There are still some great bargains to be had among non-LED-based LCD TVs, but they're typically bare-bones models less likely to have features like 3D and Internet services.
