  • "I love this juicer! Great juice output, easy clean up."

Pros: Great Juice output; easy clean up; good price $199, purchased online; quiet because level 5 it is going 12,000 rpm, goes through hard items like ginger root, red beets; large feed chute, less cutting of veggies/fruits, juice revitalizing, healthy

Cons: 16" x 16" x 9" profile is large for a counter so I use my kitchen island to juice, which really isn't a con, but could be if you don't have a kitchen island

Summary: If you are in the market for a high-quality, moderately priced juicer, this is the one for you. I joke and say, "This juicer is so awesome, I want to drive it. Varroooom." Since the showing of "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" documentary on Netflix, I decided I wanted to return to a lifestyle I used to have, and become healthier, get rid of some prescription medications, lose weight in the process. I have been drinking juices and eating a whole foods diet for 10 days and feel so much better already. I decided to upgrade from my 30-year old juicer and I checked out the Breville and decided to get the Ikon because it has a stainless steel base, a 900W motor and 5 speeds. Low speeds for leafy greens and soft fruits/veggies and high speeds for hard items like apples, carrots, red beets, and fennel bulb. I love the texture of the juice, somewhat creamy and not pulpy or grainy like some juicers produce. The fact that the pulp exits on one side, and I don't have to stop juicing to unload the pulp is a big advantage, and I can use a plastic grocery bag to line the pulp container, so that means I can have an easy clean-up. The juicer does not spray juice and it is very clean to operate. I am very pleased with this juicer. I use a small brush to clean the basket, but I did not like the brush that came with the juicer. I soak the basket in hot soapy water while I wash the other 2 parts, then the basket is easier to clean. I feel that after using the juicer for 10 days, I have a pretty good idea of how to organize myself to juice the food and what to expect.
