Pros: Only external BD burner available

Cons: Only external BD burner available

Summary: I bought this drive under duress. I needed an external BD burner quickly. I have bought two 1 TB hard drives from LaCie and had horrible performace from them. 1 failed in 14 months -1 yr warranty. 1 TB files GONE! Replaced with 1 TB "extreme" triple interface- 3 months later- 1 TB of files GONE! They 'fixed" it, it failed again, now they're fixing it again

Sounds like you should take better care of your gear. I've been using LaCie for video work for almost 10 years and have yet to lose a drive. I've probably used 15 or so drives (as storage prices went down).

So, either you're really unlucky or you're careless in your treatment of gear.
