7.1 is the minority. I can count on one hand the DVDs I have that are 7.1. I had 7.1 set up and abbandoned the rear channels. Why would they add 2 more channels and increase the price for the the majority that are fine with 5.1 unless you are in a shoebox shapped room and have the 7.1 system?
