"HD TRANSPORT !!!!!!!!!" on by gbone73
Pros: GREAT BUILD QUALITY!!!! DTS MASTER AUDIO 7.1 BIT STREAM
Cons: To expensive for a player that is not very versatile.
Summary: I have to start off by saying that this thing looks so great with a denon receiver.I have the new denon avr 4308ci hdmi 1.3 unit.It sends the new dolby true hd and dts master audio sound tracks bit stream to the receiver for decoding.I not going to get into the whole pcm /bit stream talk here but if you dont have the new receivers with built in decoding i would definitly go with another player. Video performance on regular dvds looks fantastic to me.Denons keeping quiet about what video scaler is actually in this player .i know it does not have the new hqv video chip that the dvd 3800 bdci is going to have when it comes out in march.ThAT PLAYER WILL RUN YOU TWO THOUSAND DOLLORS.!! I will admit that i think the player is to expensive considering that its not version 2.0. But Performance wise this player realy shines . listening to dts master audio is realy cool!!!!!!

"Finally! This is true BLU-RAY!" on by IFLYMAUI
Pros: Excellent color. The best of any Blu-Ray player ever (I've tried many). A fraction of the other players 'LAG' that is so common in Blu-Ray players.
Cons: You'd better have 100% HDMI or this player will not perform. HDMI to HDMI. No analog connectors at all on this 2500 TRANSPORT player. Why wouldn't you have HDMI???
Summary: Impresive. The best at speed/lag. Better at color quality. Stunning colors. A very good remote. Heavy and well-built. Responsive.

"Awsome upscalling, a monster in size and durability." on by signaltonoise
Pros: Just bought a used one and have been overtaken by the 2500's ability to transfer regular DVD into something special. Hey, enjoy the longer start up times because this Denon is into giving you a quality marathon of straight forwardness.
Cons: Price... A little expensive compared to other models in the same league. Would of been nice to have a ethernet input for easy downloads. Possibly a nicer backlite remote or liquid crystal display for ease of use.
Summary: Functionality almost flawless and thats even including Denon's attempt to lately make their remotes user friendly. No flip out plastic pannel to access buttons via the two sided gem I have with my AVR890 receiver.

"Great video and sound quality." on by CrazyforKlipsch
Pros: Plays Blu-rays, Upconverts DVD's. Detailed Picture and sound. Great Remote. Matches My Denon AVR.
Cons: Firmware updating is a pain.
Summary: This is a great Blu-Ray player. It's my first one too. I have compared this with Panasonic, Sony, LG, and Samsung and this thing out does them. First of it's built like a tank. Im pretty sure you could drop this done a flight of stairs and it will be intact. The other Blu- Ray players seemed junky. The were cheap looking and seemed cheaply made. I like how this unit I huge, and heavy. Those are signs of quality. It has one HDMI output which is nice. I have read reviews of people complaining about the one HDMI output and that there is no composite or component. Well I'm not sure why anyone would want those considering it's a Blu-Ray player and to get the best out of it you need to use HDMI.

"Unreliable, Doesn't Consistently Play BluRay." on by geezer1066
Pros: When it actually does play a bluray dvd, the picture and quality are excellent
Cons: It intermittently plays and rejects good quality, sometimes new, bluray dvds. It will sometime play and then reject the same dvd. Downloading firmware updates and installing very complex. Frankly, I expected better support from Denon.
Summary: For a device that is supposed to be at the top of their product line, my player has been a real disappointment. I'm going to replace it; I'll not choose Denon.
