"nice for the price, with some bugs to work out still"
3.0 starson by mstraigPros: price, picture quality, access music and pictures via USB port, upgradable to 2.0 (when becomes available)
Cons: some playback issue, firmware updates via cd not USB or ethernet, average but acceptable load times
Summary: I never thought I'd be an owner of anything sporting the Insignia label. But in this case, was just looking for great pciture quality for little cash, as I just watch the movies, not the all the extras. So far, this has met those needs. I found the firware update via cd to be not too much of an inconvenience. Took less than 10 minutes. Just seemed silly to have a USB and Ethernet port but not be able to use if for updates. 2.0 update is supposedly coming soon. I've watched several dozen movies on this player, and only had playback issues with the Borne trilogy. Every one of them had the audio cut out. Had to continually press pause/play to get the audio back. Very annoying, This was also after applying the latest firware update, so yes, they still have some playback issues to address. But all other movies I've watched with ZERO issues! As far as the PQ, Blu Ray is excellent. Looks great on my Mitsubishi front projector at 92"! Couldn't be happier from that standpoint.
