Does what it is supposed to do until a device requested update was performed-- then problems connecting to the Internet with and without wire.
Over a year later, hours of effort, a December 2011 update, and moving other devices away from this device then removing a DVD from the tray, unplugging all connected devices including the TV then reconnecting them, then turning the device on an off again several times, the device allowed the setup of the wireless hotspot device.
Has been working well since that time.
If you get this device as a gift and it works well right out of the box, do not accept upgrades until you research the experiences of other users. This devise does what it is will do but the firmware issues are serious if you want to use the wireless feature.
If you get this device as a gift, it is very temperamental. "If it aint broke-- don't fix it" no matter what the machine tells you.
The DVD player loads slowly and sometimes has problems opening and closing the tray. I understand that the low cost is a lure to purchase it but research all the issues with this machine before purchasing it. If it was gifted to me, I would know to be careful with this device and not update it if it was working okay.
