"Save time, bang your head into a wall instead" on by DoNotBuyLG
Pros: Looks nice sitting on the shelf, that's about it
Cons: Plays DVDs perfectly for a year, then stops. LG customer service is horrible. It's a "known problem", but they do not yet have a fix and told me to simply wait.
Summary: Save yourself the trouble and buy another product. The Netflix connection on this device is spotty at best (Tivo's is much better), it won't play DVDs (every other DVD worked for about a year, then it shut down), otherwise it does great with Blu-Rays. So, if you want a nice looking expensive paperweight that is supposed to play Netflix via the Internet and still play DVDs, this is the way to go.

"Firmware update breaks DVD playback" on by davparker
Pros: Nice product until a firmware update broke DVD playback. Regular DVDs work fine. Known issue but LG has zero info on the BD300 in their support knowledge base.
Cons: I wish LG would be upfront about this issue rather than pull all references to this product and the defect caused by a bad firmware update.
Summary: LG's support is lacking. I wouldn't count on it if buying their products.

"Good for a while but not anymore" on by robBery17
Pros: Looked good and played everything for the first 3 months (until 90 day warrenty ran out)
Cons: Won't read any disc, customer service is non-existent to very unhelpful. No one can fix it unless you send it to them, Life ain't good on this thing.
Summary: EASY TO SEE WHY IT'S BEEN DISCONTINUED!! LG SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Perfect for what it is" on by brad.kalinoski
Pros: NetFlix Streaming is fantastic.
Picture and Sound quality for Bluray and Netflix is good.
Remote is good
DVD playback is exceptionalCons: Cant find any. Compared to the reviewer at CNET. This model has an updated firmware so many issues may of been worked out.
Summary: I cant find as many flaws as the reviewer from CNET. The quality of picture and sound is fantastic. Im not sure why you would want WIFI, you have higher bandwidth with wired and less interference, so Im not sure why you would want WIFI if your streaming video. Netflix selection is and has been upgraded/updated. Although, Netflix doesnt give you the newest releases to stream as of yet, but Im sure this will change over time.
The overall quality and design fits perfect with my LG LCD TV.
Complaints over the varying audio choices, not readily available seems like it was just something the CNET reviewer needed to find to add to the con list. If you are anal in that manner, then dont purchase this Player. Other wise, ignore the cons from the reviewer and make this purchase. Its well worth it for the Bluray and Streaming Netflix.
And the price, $250 at best buy. Not bad
