"Slow and bad software design"1.0 starson by chromvision
Pros: Not much, It does what it suppose to do - play disks, but it takes about 5 min just to load simple DVD with 4 complex sub-menus.
Cons: It was advertised as wireless capable. But you have to spend additional $80 to buy wireless adapter and it does not work with 5 GHz band, so it could not stream HD video.
Summary: Wireless adapter actually work with 5 GHz band (to stream HD video, you need % GHz band and wide (40 MHz) bandwidth (there are very few routers which can transmit this, I bought latest D-Link). After all you will find that this thing do not want to see this band at all. And tech support after about 0.5 hour chat finally tell you that this router could not work with 5 GHz band.
It is kind of funny, but I ask tech support: " Is there any player which is actually capable to operate at 5 GHz band". After about 5 min search Samsung technical rep. told me that they do not have one. Which means that all their blu-ray HD players could not stream HD video. The question is, what do they need all these networking capabilities for? I like their TV, great picture and no problems so far, but the whole product line of blu-ray players looks like one big joke.
I spend the whole day running from my router to this player trying to find optimal wireless settings. Pleer work fine with 2.4 GHz and do not see 5 GHz at all. But the problem is that even 40 MHz bandwidth at 2.4 GHz band is not capable to stream HD video. Which makes this player just like slightly upgraded DVD player.
