"Nice video quality when you can get it to work."
2.0 starson by norvabearPros: Quick loading of discs, picture quality is very good, when you can get it to work.
Cons: When run through a receiver, you can barely get it to play.
Summary: I bought this player because of the high reviews I had seen on it, both on Cnet and other sources. When I connected the player directly to my plasma TV, the picture was beautiful. However, when I connected it through my AV receiver, which does have the HDMI 1.4 connections, the picture was very difficult to get to even show up. It would blink on and off, mostly off, when it does come on it's a very streaky picture, and looks terrible. My TV does not have the HDMI 1.4 connections, but why does it look so good when connected directly, but not when it is run through the receiver???

Which receiver do you own?
I have a Pioneer VSX-30. If I use the BD HDMI port I get the same garbage as you do. But I I used HDMI 2,3 the picture is great, but I can't get 3D.
