"Product not ready for mainstream use."
on by geonuinePros Good picture.
Cons Poor features.
Slow transitions.
Unusable remote control.
Samsung Tab App unusable (on Galaxy Tab 10.1)
Looses network signal.
Mediocre AllShare behavior.Summary This is suppose to be Samsung's top of the line BD player with all the bells and whistles. It is poorly designed in comparison to what's already available on phones and tablets. It doesn't even talk to AllShare on devices mentioned. Instead of using it, I get entangled in endless configurations. Too many unsupported file format messages. This is a messy device. I guess it's back to the drawing board for Samsung. Users want out-of-the-box experience.

"Very frustrating network problems"
on by JPFrechettePros Good picture quality
Above average speedCons Network is a nightmare
You loose your apps after every update (often)
Poor remote, hard to use in darkSummary I have this player for about 90 days and I hate it. Every time I want to go watch a netflix or youtube video, there is some random problems making me troubleshooting for 1 hour instead of enjoying my video. First, there are frequent mandatory updates that take about 30 minutes to complete and that remove all the apps that were there. The player does restore the apps, but it take forever.
Also, one time out of two, the player will refuse to connect to the internet. The setup option show that the internet works good, but when you go to the smarthub, there is an error msg telling you that network does not work. A hard reset is needed to make it recognized again, meaning that you have to re-enter your e-mail and password etc in netflix and youtube app, which is a pain with the remote and slow text input method.
The other major flaw is the remote, you can't feel where is the 4 arrow button in the dark, no tactile difference between the arrow and the 30 others button and no difference between upside down or not.
I was a samsung fan but after a less than stellar 2012 TV and this p.o.c. player, I don't think I'll buy any samsung product again. -
"Not a good value; does not network well."
on by rc_in_DallasPros Very pretty. No buttons (which actually worries me). Plays movies OK, but don't they all?
Cons The wireless only works up to 20 feet. Does not play Windows 7 media recordings. Does not play newly-recorded programs from your pc / home network unless you go to the pc and 'refresh' the Samsung Allshare software.
Summary Not truly wireless, does not network well.
Taking it back, getting a cheap blu ray player, and reverting back to the old XP computer connected to my TV. This blu ray offers far less than a used computer + cheap blu ray for about the same price -
"Full Featured, So easy an idiot can set it up, I did!"
on by harwichboyPros Fast, great picture and sound, 2 HDMI ports, very slim
Cons Remote is minimalist
Summary Samsung stepped up an replaced a failing Blu Ray with this new one, Samsung customer service did good. I owm two Samsung flat screens and a new working Blu Ray player, and a dryer...if they only made a red sports car!
