Pros honestly very good images supporting specially from normal DVD Cd's .
wasn't that slow for downloading like what i read about p2500 .
the design very good and you can say that sexy!
Cons the instrument display sooo poor even after sitting to bright mood, and you need to sit one feet away to see the small icons.
the most worst thing is the remote !!! its look like kids toy specially with those ugly buttons, where was the Q.C check?
Pros The 7.1 analog outs and an excellent upscaling chip.
Cons Where do I start? Super slow load times, lots of disc compatibility problems. Samsung has pretty much abandoned all support for this two year old product. Did I mention Samsung's HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE?
Summary This is a real dog of player, an expensive one at that. I'm sure most of the problems could be fixed with a firmware update, but Samsung pretty much abandoned this former flagship product about a year after it was released. If you do have a problem with a Samsung product, calling their customer service department is about as pleasant as a root canal.
Pros Netflix streaming capability
Cons Does not play new movies. Firmware is not updated frequently.
Pros Picture Quality, Streaming Netflix
Cons Sound & Video of Netflix uncouples frequently.
DVD/Bluray Compatibility Issues
Random, unexplainable freezes that require shut downs & master resets
Summary Even though the convenience of the Netflix streaming video is a great feature, this DVD bluray player needs a new firmware update badly. Also various glitches add up to make this player very annoying to use.
There are several glitches with this player. With Netflix, the video and audio comes off track very often and requires you to pause and restart to fix this problem.
Also, the player takes precedence when hooked to your tv. In other words, if the player is turned on it automatically switches your tv to the correct blu-ray input. I have a Panasonic 50 inch 800U...and even if you pause a movie and try to switch to tv to say check a game score...the bluray player overrides your input selection after only a few seconds and switches back to the bluray input like the player has taken over your remote... If you persist in switching back to the tv, the player will automatically stop the movie and then you're back at square one -- and loading isn't the fastest with this player. Thus if you have to pause a movie...don't switch from the bluray input. You'll be sorry.
Bluray/DVD compatibility is poor. When I used this player for the first time, I played a DVD and once I tried to play my first Blu-ray that was straight out of the box...the player required a master reset to do so without shutting down. Various older Blurays and DVD will not work with this player.
Overall, as much as I enjoy the image quality and Netflix...I would still not purchase another Samsung Bluray player...I'll go buy a Playstation 3 and get a Roku player instead.
Pros the dvd player is great
Cons the netflix play does not always play well and my blu ray player stopped playing 6 months in
Summary with samsung customer service being terrible and coincidently the 2500 no longer being sold at regular retail stores its clear that samsung had a problem with this model and decided not to tell anyone about it. the proof is the newer model numbers are before it and after it....DONT BUY THIS MODEL!
