Pros easy to use, very slim, many extra features, 3D future proofing
Cons not easy thus far to use BD-live features, the only way to use DTS and Dolby HD is by using an optical or coaxial cable. i am sure many players are like this however.
Summary Overall i am pleased with this product however, I wish that companies could figure out a way to give customers HD quality sound without extra cords. This player has 3D capabilities and plays all discs very well. Up conversion not bad either. I would recommend using a wired connection unless you want to plunk down the money($79.99US) for Sony's wireless USB adapter. Don't forget the USB flash drive that is a required extra. good news is that USB flash memory is cheap.
Pros Offers many streaming options, 3D upgradeable, excellent picture quality, connects to NAS server to play files, and can use iPod touch to control player.
Cons Have to create an account on Sony servers before you can connect to streaming media options, remote looks cheap, and the player itself does not look very good.
Summary A great Bluray player for the price. Paid $80 at Fry's about a week ago. Streaming options play great. However, Netflix will only play items in que. I would like to see a nicer chassis but for $80 it is hard to complain. Also, having issues getting iPod touch to connect to player to act as a remote control. Picture quality has been excellent on Blurays and HuluPlus HD. I have not tried DVD's yet.
Pros Fast startup, loads quickly, slim, very quiet, outstanding picture, easy to use. 3D video is amazing! Streaming Netflix, youtube, Pandora, is the added bonus.
Cons So far I have no complaints.
Summary I've had this player for several weeks now and can not find anything that I don't like. It does everything it's advertised to do and you can't beat the price. I'm using a wired internet connection and HDMI 1.4 via Denon 3D passthru.
Pros design, Quick Loading
Cons many problems with MKV, many problems with the external HDD
Summary I bought such a device. I have a lot of problems with this device. Lot of MKV file will not play. Does not handle external HDD. ExFAT file system does not handle memory stick, only FAT32.
Sony support is not helpful.
