Pros: Great video playback of both standard and Blu-Ray DVD movies, fast loading, replaces tv remote so I don't need 2. Faorly easy programming of features.

Cons: Small peeve: No mute on remote! Will control tv so why not have it??? DUH!

Big Peeve: Netflix sucks baaad. Unviewable, even though I have 15mbps speed. Locks up repeatedly and totally ruins my enjoyment. Cnet should redo the review about this issue!

Summary: On the fence whether or not to keep this. I like Sony, but this has shaken my loyalty. Netflix was the biggest reason I got it, and it won't work. Tried re-doing the registration of the unit, have latest firmware, and have been on the phone with Sony tech support 3 times with no resolution. Am going to ask Netflix for help nest and see what happens.

"loading data; please wait" I hate seeing that! Just to be clear, I have it hardwired it into a Cable Modem, and I still can't get Netflix to work right. 15mbps and it is worthless.

I returned the unit for another, only to get the same result. I returned the second unit for a C6500 model Samsung and now have everything I wanted. Netflix now is perfect watching the same movies that the Sony failed to play. I also now get Vudu, and the first movie was a freebie so I tried it with "Machete" in their 1080p stream. Flawless. Much better resolution quality than other On Demand sites found on the Sony but at the same price. So, reluctantly I have to say this machine is good unless you like Netflix.

Troubleshooting included: New modem from Time Warner, Brand New HDMI cable, new Ethernet cables, new location in house for modem connection, Time Warner service came by to check all lines and inspect all outside connections as well.

Final test included buying a movie from Qriosity ( Sony's version of pay movie site like Amazon on demand ) which worked FINE, ditto for Amazon service. ( Go figure! )
