"Excellent Blu ray Player."
on by stevesmith1971Pros PQ, Audio, Features Galore.
Cons No problems at all.
Summary I bought this player as a replacement for my S570. It was easy to set up right out of the box and was up and running fast. This player has internet features galore from Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus you name it it has it. The PQ quality was outstanding as was the Audio and 3D performance was excellent as well. This player is worth every penny and a must have. Another nice job from Sony.

"Not a Techie Blu Ray Player"
on by Sree9383Pros Sleek and Simple
Cons Lacks quite a bit of technical features such as auto-suggest on youtube videos, slow in loading discs, slow in playing netflix movies, not easy to connect to youtube accounts.
Summary Overall I am disappointed with this product, I am not sure why this is getting thumbs up from every site.

"This machine is total junk! I would never recommend it!"
on by jpvkkvPros Many cool applications if they worked.
Cons Machine immediately converts itself from a Blueray player to a paper weight as it is worthless for online use when the machine decides it needs an update to the firmware. This generally takes 5-10 min and fails 98% of the time's attempted.
Summary To add insult to injury tech support didn't even know they released an update, and kept refering me to a link to an older version of their firmware.

"SONY is crap."
on by JIMMYBfrom10aSEEPros The SONY brand meant good quality at one time, but now, not so much.
Cons Product did not work properly, has slow response, and eventually died completely with a rented DVD inside! SONY's service team was not too worried about it and was more concerned with selling me a refurbished unit.
Summary DO NOT BUY SONY. Product stopped working properly, then stopped working completely. SONY told me to hire someone to get a DVD out that is locked in the device, then package it up send it to them with $131 and they will send me a refurbished device as a replacement. I said that I might buy 2 cheap players for that price at Wal-Mart. "Grace", with a thick foreign accent, who might have been "Peggy", told me that was my choice and ended the call. SONY just narrowed my search for all future tech products by removing themselves from contention.

"SLOOOOOOOW"
on by ertolsmaPros Looks nice, I guess
Cons You can make dinner while your disc loads.
Summary The BDP line has long had problems with speed, both when the device is turning on and when it's loading a disc. Sony really needs to scrap the firmware for these things and completely start over. On the other hand, Sony is the king of planned obsolescence in their hardware, so by the time you can't wait any longer to get a better blu ray player, the BDP will break anyway so the decision to upgrade will be easy.
