"Easy setup and connect to wifi net"
on by josesmithPros EASY SETUP AND WIFI CONNECT. dvd player works fine.
Cons terrible remote!!! Must be within 2 feet to get remote to respond and then only with much delay, very frustrating to new users. New batteries made no difference!
Summary I upgraded to the VBR122 because of the poor support from Magnavox on a previous unit and I may do the same thing if I cant get better response out of the remote.
Manual says press SELECT on every setup step. Their is no SELECT button on the remote! Use the OK button, this must mean SELECT in some other language -
"Terrible Product!"
on by dlhazen1Pros There are no Pros
Cons Freezes up. Can't find Wi-Fi. Terrible Tech Support.
Summary Bought one of these a couple of months ago. It runs about 30 minutes then freezes the picture. It has firmware issues, even after downloading and installing latest version. Wireless will not work even when positioned next to router. Tech support is virtually non existent. Techs talk over you, do not want to solve the problem. They constantly ignore your statements and talk down to you like you must really be dumb if our unit isn't working for you. We have given up on this POS and have relegated it to the trash. We will be buying a Blu-Ray DVD player from a company that manufactures better equipment and stands behind their product. Never, never purchase anything with the Vizio name on it.

"IF the unit worked, it would be great"
on by xphilemikePros Lots of features and built in wifi
Cons Over the years, I have owned 9 disc players, most of them DVD, 2 of them Blu Ray. This is the worst one I have owned! And that includes a $30 COBY. The player is hyper sensitive to the slightest blemish on the disc which it will NOT recover from.
Summary You have to eject the disc and hope to find the problem. Then you have to endure all the obnoxious FBI warnings again as this unit has no resume feature! I have owned it for over 6 months, and it also regularly locks up requiring me to UNPLUG it.

"Not bad for a price..."
on by zawaprzPros QWERTY remote, YouTube, all major web albums in HD streaming
Cons no analog sound output, no lighted remote
Summary Well, works like a charm for me! Indeed, had a moment of down... thought would return it... but not from beginning. It works my house with Samsung LCD.... and Belkin single band N+ router... It did work flawlessly until I upgraded it over the network... Suddenly had a huge problem to connect with router. After tweaking though with router's 'security' button, finally I was 'on line'... and no more problems. Sporadically when watching YouTube it can get 'frozen' - but there is subtle solution. It only happens when there is HD content and get stock while playing. Simple solution is you hit 'backward reverse' and 'play' again in a 'sequence'... That effectively 'opens' video streaming and no more problems... My 12 years old daughter not knowing that may just hit 'too many other buttons' on remote and get to position where I have no choice but to 'unplug' unit... then though it resets, and with no problem 'connect' automatically with router... My only big complain is remote being not lighted from within inside... If that was done, I would probably have already 2 of those units, second for our HD projector cinema downstairs... I still may get this one for Christmas if price would drop below $70.... The other one is the jpgs looks just bad - low resolution. Yet, I use Picasa albums and that looks gr8!! (or Facebook, or Flicker).... Finally they did not include regular jacks on rear panel for sound - analog ones... so DTA converter travels to me already from China that I have ordered for $25.00 as my Onkyo does not have neither HDMI or optical, or coax connectors.. Lucky my Dennon downstairs has coax digital or optical inputs so getting second DTA convertor wouldn't be necessary.... You just need to be a bit patient sometimes, and understand the 'nature' of 'network' equipment - hanging up often gets from incompatibility between router and the equipment... I agree - their service is a joke - lady could not explain to me where to finds Picasa album - and told me 'it must be then not there, or will be in a coming update' - while it is via 'VuDu' menu... I knew it must be there as it was printed on the box of other model (that I have yet returned to Costco because of really badly designed remote - NO QWERTY - PAIN vbr231....)...
