"Hiccups. Vizio needs to release a firmware update."3.5 starson by ScottBrown2005
Pros: Lots of Apps. Sleek design. Neat flat buttons that are touch sensitive. Best menu user interface. Remote works with Vizio TVs. WiFi built-in. WiFi set up is simple. Ethernet Port. Very low spin/access noise during use. I am a Vizio fan.
Cons: Currently HDMI won't handshake properly or only 10% of the time. I contacted Vizio support hoping they had a simple answer and they wanted to service my VBR231 Vizio BlueRay Player. Remote Control has clicky noisy buttons.
Summary: I purchased this VBR231 Vizio BlueRay Player and hooked it up with my Component cables. Worked just fine with Component Cables. I received my longer HDMI cable in the mail, hooked it up, and found out that the VBR231 Vizio BlueRay Player does not want to handshake properly or most of the time. Yes I tried other HDMI cables to test it. I purchased it hoping to only use HDMI for TV hook-up. I could keep the BlueRay Player, since I like everything else about this BlueRay Player, but HDMI is much neater for my free-standing on console cabinet flat TV and of course using Component cables is so-1987. If you do purchase the VBR231 Vizio BlueRay Player, be sure to check out the HDMI asap, before your return policy expires.
