single light response for troubleshooting
complex setup for the non-IT techie
Required firmware update to get working
Summary: If you're looking for a 'somewhat mobile' solution with killer sound that supports Air Play then this is the product of choice. I carry with an Airport Express so all my friends and family can stream music from their iPhones and iPads (ver 1 and 2). This was an upgrade from the original Bose SoundDock which quit working. Setup was a pain and I ended up having to upgrade firmware before it would play from a docked iPhone. You connect to your computer and use a browser to configure which sounds easy enough, but it took 10 minutes to respond so I almost gave up thinking it wasn't connecting. You can name it whatever you want, but make sure you choose your network before changing the name unlike what the B&W site says since it could take you awhile to get back to that same screen.
I'm not clear on the limitations of the built in temporary wireless network so I chose to use an older Apple Airport Express I had to use as the wireless network. Reasoning for me is that I move it between 3 locations and can easily plug in the Express, plug in the Zeppelin and have instant streaming from iDevices without reconfiguring to a local LAN each time. Works great once you get it setup the first time.
Hopefully B&W can improve the setup procedure.
