Pros: Plays XM Radio (XM is great, this box isn't), looks good
Cons: not loud enough, it's heavy, all it's controls.
Summary: Let me start by saying that I love XM Radio. I also really like the Skyfi2 that I use in my car and in the Boombox above.
That said, I should have waited to buy a decent Boombox. This one is crap. I returned my first one because the controls didn't work properly. Funny thing is when I got the second one it did the same thing as the first. Let me try to explain.
I First read the manual over to see how to use the alarm clock and the cd player. Have you ever seen spelling mistakes in a manual. I hadn't until this one. But I don't think anyone at the company ever read it because most of it makes no sense and is completely confusing. I tried to program in Fm stations but could't because either the manual doesn't exlain it properly or even it doesn't know how. I think it's still in Korean.
Where to go from here. If you want it for portability it's very heavy. Put all those batteries in it and you will end up with a sore back. When you put the Skyfi 2 into the base that it has and you click it in well... the only way I found to get it back out was by using a sharp object to pop it back out. Hmmm. Do you want it for it's sound? The sound is pretty average but when you want to really crank it up well... you can't. It has a maximum level of 30 which sounds like it should be loud but isn't. I still could't hear it over the water running in the shower. Flipping the central unit around to get a cd player well... it's awkward, makes the unit even heavier. I still don't know how to use the clock or Fm radio. Not the clock radio alarm either but for that you would probably need a PHD in well... anything.
Don't let the sleek look fool you. For 200$ plus tax I must be out of my mind to have bought it. But please learn by my mistake and wait for the second generation. Did I saay anything nice about it. Oh. See pro's above.
Delphi, you should be ashamed.
