Pros: It does sound good. The volume at a high volume is crisp and clean. Sadly, that's the only pro.
Cons: The customer service when something goes wrong is really bad.
My boom box crapped itself after 10 months.
The boom box turns itself off after a few minutes if a signal is not being sent. This gets really frustrating.

Summary: If the system was still working, I would give it a 3 star - it's OK. But I do have to re-iterate that the customer service is appalling at TDK. My speakers began to distort after 10 months of light use. Wasn't being played overly loud, and never left my work desk. The customer service had no idea on how to fix it after 2 weeks sent me a blank USB stick to fix the problem. It's now 6 weeks into the 'fix process' and every week I email them and have to remind them that they need to replace it. They really don't care, are lazy and the management team there are useless.
Now I'm over the rant, the system plays well. It does sound nice and crisp at a high level. The only comment on the sound is that it does not have a stereo sound, and in hindsight I would have purchased the cube. In regards to the music input - more a gimmick, but it does work, albeit at a quite level.
Now the Iphone 5 is out and the work no longer revolves around apple, the Iphone connection is going to be redundant before long - you may think you will keep your old Iphone or iPod, but you probably won't in the end so you will need to use the input jack.
Forget taking this beast to the park - it is very heavy and if you do, take some friends with you to share the load.
I might be old school, but I am string believer in buying goods that last - 5 years minimum. The folk at TDK need to brush up on their customer service skills and be honourable about how they deal with problems. Not just hire lazy staff to twiddle their thumbs all day long.
