"Finally! one that works" on by pkipnis
Pros: Small foot print, easy set up and reliable performance
Cons: hard to find at retail locations
Summary: After having two D-LINK and one SMC bridges DOA out of the boxes. I had to go to 5 retailers including 3 national chains to find the one WET54G in all of Silicon Valley. The other brands were less expensive but were poorly made given our 3/3 DOA average.
We were online in about 5 minutes after reseting the IP's on our 4 computers and the 3 laser printers on our office network. The documentation is good, the software easy to understand and the wizard works! Imagin that. Lets see how well it lasts, but I think it will be as solid as the Linksys 8 port hub that connects everything. -
"Terrible support from India!!!" on by yommm
Pros: I think mine is DOA.
Cons: Impossible to configure, horrible support.
Summary: Well after I have spent over an hour trying to configure this device, it still does not work. I am wondering if its defective. It just does not show up on my network at all... Tried with two different routers, so I cannot configure it. I have called tech support...wow! These guys in India don't even understand the questions they are asking!!! I will never buy another linksys product again; their support people are reading scripts that are completely unrelated to my problem. I am programmer, so I know the basics of networking, and after 4-5 silly questions, I have asked for someone with a "clue", that resulted in 35 minutes of hold time....
)) Nice! Linksys, get your act together, and hire QUALIFIED support people, preferably some, who speak ENGLISH!! -
"Don't Buy it" on by guyd_pcmasters
Pros: It looks good
Cons: It doesn't work
Summary: Version 3 of this bridge has an in-built problem that will cause it to hang after a time of operation in WPA PSK mode. V2 of the bridge was OK. I've confirmed that this is the case with 3 brand new bridges out of the box.

"Subpar reception and other hangs" on by gpsjosh
Pros: OK for unsecured networks?
Cons: WPA-PSK bug further confirmed
Summary: As previously mentioned in another review, this unit does hang after a rather short period of time if used in a WPA-PSK. Wish I had read the review beforehand...

"another piece of Linksys Junk" on by IPchap
Pros: if it doesnt work, then there are no "pros"
Cons: if you setup the box with a different IP to the one its shipped with, without first upgrading to the latest firmware, the box wont recover from its reboot. You wont then be able to upgrade the firmware or reset to factory. It doesnt even respond to arps!
Summary: Linksys support is SHAMEFUL.
I have a lot of networking equipment, including mostly CISCO & Linksys, but I will never buy CISCO or Linksys again
