"The clear choice"on by markbowen
Pros Small, fast, easy to install
Cons Not fully compatible with some websites
Summary I've always preferred alternative browsers to IE, which is bulky, sluggish, and seems to take over the entire OS. I used Netscape for a long time, but their later versions became bloated and overly complicated to install. The developers of Firefox, on the other hand, just seem to "get it." We want a browser that doesn't hog memory, that is easy to install, and is easy to upgrade with extensions. It just gets better and more stable with each update. My only beef is that the browser is incompatible with some websites, particularly some secure sites, but that is more the website developers' fault, most likely due to some evil pact with Microsoft. Firefox is kicking IE's butt right now, as evidenced by the fact that almost all of the improvements in IE7 already existed in earlier versions of Firefox. What I would most like to see in future versions of Firefox is a more sophisticated download manager, and the ability to surf anonymously, without having to resort to third party programs.
Pros Fast, spell-checker, extremely secure, EXTENSIONS, ADD-ONS, THEMES, and oh yea MORE EXTENSIONS
Cons A few pages still are only compatible on IE
Summary Everyone giving Firefox 2 a VERY low score is only a fanboy of another browser. Firefox 2 is unbelievably deep with the ever growing community creating amazing addons that you cannot browse without. There is more than you probably ever thought possible. So don't listen to these idiots, just try it out yourself, you will love it. Here is where you can find the great extensions: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/

Pros AWESOME BROWSER
Cons None yet seen
Summary I am disappointed that this browser is sooo much better than IE 7! I wish IE7 was better! But IE7 is slow. Just run Cnet's main page on IE7 and then on Firefox and you will see a HUGE difference. And I like it that the tabs make sense to me on this browser and that the favorites are on the right side. You can't manipulate anything on IE7!
"Excellent Browser"on by texasags
Pros Tabs, spell check, speed, RSS
Cons Occasional page issues (less than 5%)
Summary I think this is an excellent browser, and the best currently available. I have tried them all.
Pros No crashes, Stable happy with the product.
Cons My add-ons did not carry over to version 2
Summary If it wasn't for Firefox. IE ver7 would not have come to pass. With competition everyone wins. Microsoft doesn't like to innovate only the opensource community has that mentality. All open source browsers have updated and upgrade their version while it took how many years for Microsoft to come out with version 7?
