"Firefox 3 sucks!!! IE5"
Pros: none none none
Cons: bloated and slow as hell
Summary: Do not upgrade from 2.0! I wish i never did. Nothing new jumps out at you except a fatter more bloated slower firefox.
I'm so ticked off right now i don't even know where to begin.
Times out on large sites! Its almost feels like im using IE5 on dial up.It pauses for about 2 seconds.
Handles redirects and time outs by displaying Address not found! The fix? refresh a couple times loads fine.
More sluggish when scrolling pages or shifting tabs.
Sometimes wont load images you have to right click to Show image. Plus it loads and displays page elements diffrent.
Screw this i just want to browse i dont care about the cool flashy history drop down in the address bar.
Those pop up bars at the top **** me off. I liked the old way they had it. regular pop up less annoying than the whole page shifting.
Start up is more heavy on the resources.
The star in the url sucks.
I would type more but im closing this crap ware out and reinstalling firefox 2.

Re: maxtom101 - It may well be this writer who is making false assumptions. Reviews obviously contain personal opinion, which is what makes them valuable. Plus the reviewer did not end with pros and cons only but gives a fair bit of his heart in summary, and his conclusion is perfectly valid. The star in the URL sucks indeed - it is enough to look at it and does not require further corroboration. In fact the whole bar sucks. Slow computer, slow connection? Making assumptions again. I am on Pentium 4 and 100 Mb/s LAN, and yet can see the same. So give me a fast one.

And I thought I was just paranoid!!! I experienced exactly the same issues.
FF3 sucks so bad, it's not even funny!!! I ended up removing it and replacing it with 2.0.16 version.
I have no idea why I was having these problems... regardless: it just don't work on my relatively new computer running on XP. -
There's an add-on that allows to revert back to the old url.

Firefox 3 sucks way more than the latest 2.x release. I'm on a one year old Gateway laptop running Vista Home Premium. FF 3 is slower, consumes more system resources, and has crashed more frequently than previous versions. And I'm not seeing anything new and mind-blowing in the features/interface as I was led to expect from the techie hype/buzz. Mozilla and Apple must use the same p.r. people.

The "Bookmark This Page" icon at the address bar and not the "Go to the address in the Location Bar" icon is a great no-no.
Well of course, there's always good things and bad things about something and not everyone have the same ratio.
It's free, so can't really complain about.
Firefox, do something better next time. -
I have to agree to a certain extent. "Some" sites do load faster others not at all until you refresh.
However, I think for the 'average' user this is a big improvement worthy of a new version number. -
In this review, the reviewer simply gives his/her opinion without the reasons why ("the star in the url sucks"). The other issues are most likely the result of a slow internet connection or a slow computer.

Disapointed in this somewhat fast but not consistantly fast browser as you will find it drags on loading pages which will become very annoying that you'll switch to Blazing fast Opera 9.50 RC2 your should be alternative to this version of firefox. Opera almost has it all as they continue towards perfection.....http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2008/06/27/opera-9-51-rc-2
