"absolute rubbish"
Pros: didn't like anything about it as it crashed my computer...
Cons: didn't like anything about it as it crashed my computer...
Summary: after doing everything that was asked during the download, nothing worked and the whole thing went to crap and when trying to re-install the previous ie7 everything froze and had to start from scratch again, I think that they should try and make it a bit better than it is and more user freindly.

A lot of people are having problems with it. It would be better if you could list some of the things that didnt work.
Not a lot to go on here but I gather ur pretty sick of it and just want it removed.
I'm assuming you are using XP. Use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. If you are on Windows XP Service Pack 3 then uninstall that first (It won't let you uninstall IE8 or IE7 until you go back to SP2). Then uninstall IE8, then IE7. Reinstall IE7 which is much more stable than IE8 if you wanna continue using Internet Explorer.
I'm hoping you wont have to go back to SP1. Good luck.
If you think something is absolute rubbish then you have the choice to make a change. I suggest you try another Internet browser.
