"How about spme sort of support?"
Pros: Tabbed browsing, interesting and useful extensions and skins. Short cut bar very helpful.
Cons: VERY long load times. NO support. Very buggy. Conflict with MS Antispyware Beta, among others.
Summary: Much hype has been given to this browser for several good reasons (Pros, above) and security (but wait a minute), but it suffers from a good number of shortcomings (Cons, above). Particularly annoying are the relatively frequent crashes (on two different Win XP computers) with the request for detailed info from FF, with no followup at all regarding fixes, explanations, or help. At least MS offers fixes for problems at times that actually work, and I am no fan of MS.

Mozilla firefox has been supported for years, both through IRC and their forums. To say this product is "unsupported" is misleading at best.
Of course Microsoft is going to support things. You actually have to PAY for them, so yes, they have to support you.
I've been using Firefox since before it WAS firefox, and believe me, it's FAR from "buggy". If it doesn't load properly, you've got a profile problem, probably because you played with something you shouldn't have. Load time ? Firefox always loads faster than any competing browser (beit IE, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, or anything else). Never have I seen it take any length of time to load.
MS Antispyware? Use a real spyware program. Of course they're going to try to register their competitors as problematic. They did the very same thing with Dr. Dos and will continue to do it until someone puts that place to rest for good. To them, it's "healthy competition". There are plenty of reputable spyware products out there that AREN'T in beta. Judging by MS's security performance, that is the LAST place you should be turning for that type of stuff.
Firefox isn't perfect, but It deserves far better than a "3" rating, and this much misinformation spread about it. The problems you outlined aren't with firefox, they're with Microsoft, and yourself. -
The 3 you gave to Firefox is unwarranted. With your comments, you should have given a 6 or 7.
When you say "Very buggy", just what do you mean? That comment doesn't describe anything!
What do you consider long load times?
Having used Firefox and Mozilla 1.7.6, I do not have any issue with long load times nor frequent crashes. I wonder if it's not Firefox but your system? Something to consider. -
I must say Feister Meister that your comments about user support is very ill stated indeed. Firefox has support both an IRC chat that you can contact and support forums at MozillaZine to help you with some 3rd party support.Though let me tell you a lot of those people can and will help you just as good as a helper on the payed for phone lines that MozzilaZine supports. Furthermore long load times are to my knowledge rare, firefox is faster on my Winxp machine then IE, and what do you mean buggy? Chances are safe mode and a new profile could have fixed all your problems, and MS (notice the MS is in beta, so you can just as well blame MS for the conflict not just firefox) [notice: blame both at least not just one]
