Pros: Horrible customer service.
Cons: Nothing special.
Summary: If you want them to come and install something in your home, you should be very patient. They will give you an appointment a week after you call them with a 3-hour or even a whole-day window, and no body will show up. If you call them about it, they will have you wait for half an hour on the phone and then they will tell you that they will call you back later, and no body will call. You should NOT deal with them if you have high blood pressure or a gastric ulcer.

Pros: Good sales people who get you to sign up, but customer service representatives, tech supports and technicians make you recognize that they have no idea what they are doing. STAY AWAY, don't fall for introductory rate, it goes up after 1 year

Pros: Features, SPEED, ease of use
Cons: Price, no special offers
Summary: I can't understand Cnet. You cannot possibly compare cable to DSL. There is just no comparison when it comes to speed for the average user. Downloads are near instantaneous, and support is very good, at least thats been my experience. Optimum could offer a better price to its existing customers, especially if you bundle all services through them (cable, voice, and internet). Overall, great service.

Pros: Cheaper than a landline, if the system woudl've worked.
Cons: Inferior service from Optimum, disabled house phone wiring.
Summary: I fell for Optimum's sleek sales and allowed them to port over my phone land line to their cable phone. Installer came, connected a new modem, and plugged-in one phone to the modem. IWhile testing we discovered that Optimum's phone can call out but all incoming calls are still routed over to the "old" land line. At that point Optimum's (Bresnan) technician stated that he doesn't know why and what is causing it... and left. Optimum has rendered my perfectly working home phone system useless and left me with only partially working their system. Never switch to Optimum and don't let their incompetent technicians into your house.

Pros: Decent Price for 1 year with Triple Play contract.
Cons: - Many of HD channels don't work.
- Several channels picture quality is very poor (with jagged pictures like Satallite TV in bad weather)
- On-line speed fluctuatesSummary: This is for Hudson, NYarea. Optimum cable and On-line service used to be my favorite. Not anymore.
Especially, cable service is getting really worth. Many of the channels don't work.
Changed cable box per service recommendation but it didn't work. It works little better when I reset the cable box but it don't last. Program listing and changing channel is slow. My friend's Fios is FAST (for both cable TV and internet) and lot more clearer pictures. Can't wait for Fios!
