"Spectacluar quality"
Pros: All elements of the sound spectrum raise proportionally to one another, maintaining quality sound at all volume levels.
Cons: Large size may make it difficult to find a simple mounting location.
Summary: This amplifier is built to perform! It will definitely bring out the full potential in your speakers if used as a four channel amplifier; so much so that it may bring out their range limitations.
For instance, I am running Infinity Kappa speakers from it - front: two 5.5's, rear: two 5x7's - and, while they are pretty nice speakers, it highlights that they have a slightly overloaded mid-range. This was not at all apparent when I was running these speakers directly off of the head unit.
It is not to say this amp is only better than head units. When matched up against alpine, kicker, and mtx amplifiers, it will prove to deliver the most realistic reproduction of an original recording.
The Kenwood KAC-6402 was much less efficient at delivering clean mids. The kicker ZX200.4 was not quite balanced properly with its mid-high assertiveness. Then MTX TC4004, while louder than this Rockford, is not as smoothed out in the lower ends (800hz-1.2khz).
The Rockford T4004 has just got it right. If you are looking for a mid-sized system, this is the perfect amplifier for you highs. It also pairs up with the Rockford T10001bd exceptionally well.
