"All around a great unit, all the controls you want at a price that's hard to beat."
Pros: aux-in, lots of EQ settings, good interface
Cons: The ONE and ONLY thing is that the brightness doesn't change with the rest of my dash like my OEM unit did.
Summary: This unit gets an "excellent" rating from me because it does everything I want it to without breaking the bank. It's a middle of the pack head-unit that's affordable and comes with a good amount of features. It doesn't have any revolutionary technology. But what it does, it does excellently.
This unit that comes packed with features, most of them standard issue on most head units. There is the CD/MP3 player, EQ settings, disc changer support, satellite support, HD radio support, aux-in jack and an interesting feature called the Attentuator (ATT)
ATT. is a feature that lowers the volume of your radio immediately when you push the button so you can use your phone more easily. It then returns the volume to normal when you push it again. With the volume wheel 3 inches to the right, it's clever but not very useful.
The real value in this unit for me is the plain-old-every-unit-has-one-aux in jack. I have an XM radio and an MP3 player because I don't care for the local radio stations. This lead to the buying, and subsequent throwing away, of many FM transmitters. In most big cities a lot of the FM channels are already taken. Plus, heaven help you if you travel to another city, you'll need to find another blank station. With the aux-in jack I can plug my XM or my MP3 player into my head unit and listen to sweet, uninterrupted music anywhere I drive.
The one and only complaint that I can think of for this unit is the lack of brightness control syncing to my dashboard. It does have a dimming feature, just not synced with my dash. Just a small pet-peeve of mine.
In my opinion, this is a very well rounded and worth-while product.
