Pros: Holding down the "RDM/iPod" button on the bottom left lets u switch iPod control back n forth. I have the 5th gen Nano..works fine.
Love the sound, iPod control, display, 3x 4v rca outputs, remote control, eq controls, and Bluetooth and Sat radio.
Cons: The USB interface is pretty bad. I can plug a huge thumb drive in but every time I play a song and want to scroll through other songs to see what I want to hear next I have to start back at the highest tiered parent folder.
Summary: In other words u end up doing A LOT of navigating. even if u just want to see what song will play next in ur folder when using thumb drives! This is a Pioneer issue from what Ive heard and they blame it on the thumb drive technology per their emailed response to my inquiry.
The iPod display interface resets itself every time u turn the car off too. So when u restart ur car the same song will be playing but u have to renavigate thru ur folders to find where u were...u wont be in the same folder as when u turned the car off...u'll be back at the parent folder (ie Artists, Playlist, Songs, etc)..not that big a deal.
I also kinda wish when u scroll thru long playlists u could just hold down the "down" or "up" button to kinda 'speed-scroll' through them instead of having to press the button over and over and over and over...gets kinda tedious. Anyways i make shorter playlists and less cluttered folders bcz of it...not a big deal. Oh but I wish the 'search by alphabet' function worked in folders besides just 'artist' and 'album'....why would that be
anyways it sounds like im complaining but i love this deck...best ive ever owned!
