Unlike bipolar transistors, MOS-FETs have low crossover distortion for excellent signal-to-noise ratio in the high range. The high efficiency also means low power consumption and low heat radiation. Panasonic car audio is compatible with XM and Sirius satellite radio receivers. Both offer plentiful categories and channels, and you can operate their convenient functions such as Category Lock and Direct Access by channel number from the head unit while viewing information such as artist name and track title on the display. The Direct Cable for iPod (CA-DC300U), sold separately, is all you need to connect the head unit and your iPod player. The head unit will display iPod information, including artist name and album, and you can select iPod tracks and playlists directly from the head unit. Power is supplied to the iPod player from the connected head unit, so you can enjoy the vast amount of music on your iPod player while charging at the same time. This CD receiver not only plays CDs, but also CD-R/RW discs, including MP3 and WMA formats. If you've got WMA and MP3 music files recorded on the same CD-R/RW disc, no problem - the CD receiver can handle it. For your listening pleasure, the acclaimed Alphatuner V FM/AM tuner circuitry is built into this unit as well, and there are 18 FM and 6 AM presets.
