Car audio DIN sizes

DIN (a German acronym for Deutsche Industrie Norm meaning German Industry Standard) is the accepted width of car radio head units. Height is described in DIN proportions, single-DIN being the original DIN standard height. Double-DIN is standard DIN width but twice the DIN height. You may have to consider DIN size and purchasing an accompanying adapter when replacing your factory-installed car radio with an aftermarket head unit.
