"Get a review from an experienced reviewer"
Pros: big screen
Cons: awful mapping and directions, too big
Summary: I have used just about every GPS system known to man and to tell you folks this one doesn't even come close to taking the cake. First the
PRO's: large screen, readable in sunlight, traffic receiver.
CON's: mapping is awful, very basic visual map, clunky user interface, traffic feature is so delayed its useless, weighs so much it bounces all over the dash board.
Stay away from this one, in my opinion go with something small and portable with a viewable screen. A 9.9 on my list would be the Garmin Nuvi which I currently own and its amazing. Hope this helps and good luck!!

...getting annoying and rendering CNET reviews almost useless.
It is almost as if Garmin paid people to go out and write bad reviews on everyone except Garmin, and..."extra bonus points if you can advertise the Nuvi!"
Seriously folks, go read as I have for the past few hours, user reviews on upscale GPS systems on CNET. Almost anything non-Garmin gets slammed by a few users and they propose getting a Garmin nuvi.
flashbang, sorry bro, but you haven't used almost every gps system known to man...jeez. -
I haven't yet tried the Cobra, but I can tell you the Garmin Nuvi isn't a winner, either.
I had a Nuvi and returned it after using it on a 3,000-mile trip. The screen washes out bigtime in sunlight and the tinny (as in metallic) little voice is sometimes impossible to understand over road noise (and we were in the wife's quiet Cadillac!). That was a deal-killer for us, so back it went.
Not near as usuable as my old StreetPilot 2620.
My attraction to the Cobra is the bigger sreen ... after getting used to the nice 8" OEM screens in our other cars, the little 3.5" guys are too hard to work with. -
I love gps systems, just not the Cobra. I've driven with the Garmin Nuvi/C320/C340/2610/2720 and the Magellan 3x0 and Magellan 700.
Having used all these gps systems, I can tell you that the Cobra one doesn't really take the cake in terms of useability. It might be big and beautiful but it doesn't really hold a candle to the Garmins I have used. The Garmins have really quick access to addresses and POI with the absolute fewest presses of the buttons.
